Radiology
Upon receipt of a study requested by an authorized provider, the Diagnostic Imaging Department provides service to any registered patient of YKHC. We do general x-ray exams, computed tomography, contrast studies, mammography and sonograms. Services are provided to all age groups and they are predominantly outpatients.
The department is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. to support Outpatient Clinics and staffed 24/7 with a Technologist able to perform general and computed tomography exams, to support the Emergency Department.
The department is staffed by AART licensed technologists approximately 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (except in extenuating circumstances, when an on-call technologist is designated) for general radiology and computed tomography.
An RDMS licensed sonographer performs sonograms nine hours a day, Monday through Friday.
Certified Mammographers perform mammograms by appointment and walk-in Monday through Friday.
ACR board-certified Radiologists provide interpretation of all studies. Our radiologists are located in Ohio and read our images remotely. One of them is available 24 hours a day for consult. Quarterly, one of them comes to Bethel to do Lower GIs, VCUG s etc. They have a monthly calendar with all their contact information that is prepared by the radiology department and distributed throughout the hospital. Call them with any questions about radiological testing.
Teleradiology
- For questions about ortho or surgery x-rays – you can telerad them directly to ANMC (YKHC Diagnostic Imaging Telerad Policy).
- Find out who the ANMC orthopedic or surgery doctor is for that day by calling the ANMC operator (907-563-2662).
- Fill out a telerad form (ortho or non-ortho) and send it to radiology
- When sending the form to radiology please send a patient demographic sheet (face sheet) with the telerad form.
- There are different ways that radiology can receive telerads. One way results in a reply email to you that the telerad was sent.
- Scan-email the documents to yourself. Then forward the email to radiology@ykhc.org. Radiology staff will send the telerad forms and images to ANMC then respond to the email that the telerad has been sent.
- Fax the documents to radiology @ 6314. Radiology staff will send the telerad but cannot send confirmation of the telerad being sent back to a fax machine.
- Hand delivered.
- (Scan-email to radiology@ykhc.org is best practice for you to receive confirmation as well as protecting patient information.)
- In about 30-45 minutes you can call ANMC and ask for the doctor on call or Tigertext the provider (follow instructions on the ortho telerad form to contact the provider on call) to review the images and determine plan of care.
